the small print

Many people think that the ‘Small Print’ always acts against customers' interests, but we do not think that this is necessarily true. Our scheme Rules define the RIGHTS of our subscribers under the scheme. We cannot reject a claim simply because we feel like it - we may only do so if the claim infringes one of Medicaid’s Rules.

The ‘Small Print’ divides into two pages, Benefit Notes and Rules.

The Benefit Notes deal purely with your benefit entitlements and should be read in conjunction with the Benefit Table. For instance, if you are referred for physiotherapy, the Table of Benefits will tell you how much you can claim, while the Benefit Notes will tell you the things that you can claim for.

If you are thinking of joining Medicaid as a new Subscriber, all of the terms and conditions that will apply to your membership are set out in this website and in our scheme brochure. In many types of insurance you only see the rules after you have applied to join, but that is not our way of doing business. With us, what you see is what you get.
